Arrested a British journalist in Ukraine of Russian TV – The País.com (Spain)

A British journalist chain Russian TV Russia Today was arrested Tuesday in Ukraine, reported Wednesday Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom. The reporter, Graham Phillips, 35, works as a partner for the Russian news channel. In his latest post on the social network Twitter, writing Tuesday, the journalist said he had been “secretly recorded” a morgue in Mariupol.

Chain of Russian television reported, however, that supplies the Ukrainian Interior Ministry have beaten him that Phillips will be delivered to the British consulate in Kiev. The Foreign Ministry has said that UK are in contact with the Ukrainian authorities.

The journalist was arrested in Mariupol, a port city east of Ukraine, and transferred overnight at Kiev by the National Guard Ukraine, according to the Russian channel. The broadcaster has indicated that Phillips has not communicated with them since Tuesday afternoon by any means.

The chain believes that the journalist has been arrested for being “interrogated” by the Security Service Ukraine (SBU). Larisa Volkova, the press service of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, told Russia Today that Phillips was arrested at the request of the Ministry of Defence in a checkpoint near Mariupol.
