The director of BBC Television, Danny Cohen, today announced that he will leave his post at the British public corporation after eight years to pursue “new challenges”.
The executive, who will leave office at end of November, will be replaced by Mark Linsey, the hitherto responsible for entertainment programming channel.
“After eight wonderful years at the BBC, it’s time to face a new and great challenge” said Cohen.
He stressed that “the BBC is in a brilliant creative way,” adding that “there has never been a more exciting for television and digital media era.”
Cohen admitted that he feels “very privileged to have led the best television service in the world and to have worked with so many talented and intelligent people.”
As for what his next challenge, the director Television disclosed that in recent weeks he had been approached “in relation to several exciting opportunities” that you want to study.
