Football and television – Mundo Deportivo

The TV and interests condition the life of football. There are few days in a week without a game televised high competition. The league usually starts on Friday and ends on Monday. The schedules are erratic. There are league games noon, four o’clock, six, eight, ten … Luckily UEFA has set 2045 as the time for everyone. It seems more serious. Is there a demand for continued social football nonstop, all day, almost every day? I am not aware. It seems as if football is practiced for content providers and broadcasters not for the amateur who came to the stadium to see live the idols of the time. I know that television finances bloated budgets of the big teams. But does not solve the debt problems of children.

There is an idea that haunts the mind of the Minister Montoro which is that all teams receive the same amount of television. Thus, argue the Treasury, they could settle the debts that many clubs have contracted with the Tax Office and Social Security. It would be wrong, even worse, it would be an injustice to use television to solve a problem that, in any case, politics and business. It is inevitable, essential, that television provide entertainment to millions of viewers. It is not otherwise understood. But what is surprising is that broadcasters decide over clubs, sports federations and other institutions imposing days, times and other criteria that are increasingly intrusive. Televisions can naturally propose their demands, but the clubs and federations would have to raise their own thinking in the interest of the fans and members of the respective institutions.
