How to retune TV – The New Spain

Yesterday was rescheduled and there was also a change in television. You may already have noticed or maybe not; the fact is that from six o’clock Sunday channels of digital terrestrial television (DTT) have new frequencies. Currently, most can be seen as it is today, but as of January 1 who has not retuned your TV will suffer a blackout and black.

So there are just over two months to reconfigure its TV channels. One hundred percent of the users is required and it is advisable to do it as soon as possible. Those who live in single family homes or have individual antenna will suffice your remote. Those who live in buildings with three or more dwellings and have a communal aerial antenista should call an installer. There are some key questions to retune the TV.

1 Why reconfigure television again after the 2010 blackout? It is a requirement imposed by the European Union. The aim is to free up airwaves (Fringe 800 megahertz) for the expansion of 4G mobile technology.

2 What affects users? All users of television, regardless of where they live or the type of antenna you have.

3 What time I have to do? From Sunday until 31 December, which is the deadline. Until then, the chains issued a double signal: the new frequency and the old frequency. But from January 1 will only work on the new frequencies, so anyone who has not retuned your television will not see the channels.

4 What changes must be made on the antenna? Remove the strip receiving cleared for telephony and expand to new frequencies. The individual dishes are prepared, but require collective or adapter or is necessary to reconfigure the PBX.

5 antenista Should I call? If the building has more than three dwellings must be the administrator or president of the community who call a specialist to adjust the antenna to the new changes.

6 How much will it cost? Users who need the antenna matching (buildings over three houses) will cost roughly twenty euros per household. The owners, however, may apply for the grant to be awarded the Government, varying between 100 and 550 euros, depending on the antenna. Aid will begin to ease from 2015 and should be requested telematics or by internet enabled platform yet.

7 What channels are directly affected? The HD channels of the different chains (HD acronym) pass the new multiplex, while its space will occupy their similes in standard definition and other channels.

8 How do television channels are retuned? Most current television does automatically. This requires looking at the knob (depending on model) the “Menu” button and select the “Settings” option (also can be called “Installation”). Then select the “auto channel tuning” option. With these orders the TV scan for channels. Then it is advisable to order them with our favorite numbers (also with the command) and delete that never go see.

9 a channel will be lost after the retune? No. After the suppression of Nitro and Xplora by a judgment, more changes are not expected in this regard. It remains to know the decision made TVE Teledeporte but closing the canal would be a business decision, never a technical result.

10 Who can help? Industry has provided two phones: 901201004 and 954307796, and a website. Www.televisiondigital.es
