The Status-6 planes appeared briefly in the hands of a Russian officer during the broadcast of the meeting. Shortly after his release, the Russian chains removed images, but have not been able to erase the Internet. Later, spokesman own Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, has recognized the authenticity of the documents, which were classified as secret and assured that steps would be taken to not return to repeat these cases.

According the description reads the document and translated the Guardian, the status-6 “creates zones of extensive radioactive contamination which makes unaffordable for economic and military activity for a long period of time” .

The Status-6 design is the work of Rubin, a manufacturer of submarines based in St. Petersburg. more is not known about the torpedo, and circumstances surrounding the filtration (A televised military meeting with secret documents, but) shows many doubts about whether the device exists beyond a diagram.

the incident may be no more than a staging of Vladimir Putin to take weapons muscle after recent NATO exercises Nov. 5 (the largest in living memory) or proof of a US missile Trident. [The Guardian via Gawker]
