MADRID, Aug. 5 (CulturaOcio) –
movie School of Rock Paramount jump to the small screen hand Nickelodeon . The series, which bear the same name as the movie, will retell the adventures of Dewey Finn , a character who embodied Jack Black in 2003.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a television adaptation of this film will feature thirteen episodes in its first season. It is still early to know the distribution of this new project, although it will come out soon. What is confirmed is that production will begin later this year and will be released in late spring 2015.
Jim and Steve Armogida ( My family ) be the writers, showrunners and executive producers of the new TV adventure. Also participating in the project as executive producers, Richard Linklater and Scott Rudin , director and producer of the original film, respectively. School of Rock was written by Mike White , who also acted in the film with Black. The film centered on a failed rocker who had been expelled from his rock band. Later decides sustitutir a music teacher in a school and formed his own group with students. Russell Hicks , president of content development at Nickelodeon and declares that School of Rock is one of those great movies that can provide the tone of humor looking chain. “We are excited about the opportunity to work with Paramount TV to bring to television series as” it aims Hicks. Meanwhile, the president of Paramount TV, Amy Powell, is confident that the vicissitudes of beloved rocker entertain the whole family. “The Dewey outrageous personality and his desire to be a rock star as the central theme of the plot will make School of Rock is an irresistible and fun program for the whole family” .
