Apple plans its TV service over the Internet to … – Yahoo Finance Spain

San Francisco (USA), Mar 17 (EFE) .- The technology giant Apple is in talks with several US television networks to provide service TV on the Internet with about 25 channels in September, reported the newspaper The Wall Street Journal.

According to the Journal, the service will include programming networks such as ABC, CBS and Fox and will be available on devices as the Apple TV.

The newspaper said the talks would not include, for the moment, NBC Universal, which owns the NBC television network and cable channels like USA and Bravo, due to disagreements between Apple and the parent of NBC Universal, Comcast Corp.

Apple and Comcast had discussions last year about the possibility of launching a television service via the web but did not reach an agreement.

Apple negotiations include discussions with CBS and 21st Century Fox, among other companies, said the Journal, which said the plan is to include a package of programming from popular chains.

Sources consulted by the Journal indicated that the service could cost between 30 and 40 dollars a month (from 28-37 euros) and will probably be announced in June, although not launch until September.

The TV service online work on all devices that use the Apple iOS operating system, including iPhones and iPad tablets.

The news comes after last week’s pay channel HBO, creator of shows like “The Sopranos “or” Game of Thrones “, announced to debut on Apple TV as an independent television station.

HBO Now let users subscribe to their programming without being a customer of a cable service and will be available in the US for $ 14.99 (14.13 euros) exclusively on Apple devices
