North Korea launches its own television service to the letter – RT in Spanish – International News

Under the heading ‘Manbang’ (meaning ‘everywhere’ in Korean), North Korea’s state television presented last August 18 its own TV service a la carte, very similar to the famous Netflix platform, reports’ The Guardian.

Through a like a router device, viewers can connect to the government-controlled intranet to see live programming of the five state channels, find information about the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and read articles in official newspapers.

the new service represents an important advance for North Korea, given limited access to intranet in the country. However, despite its name, ‘Manbang’ has not reached all North Koreans and is available only in larger cities. In addition, the catalog is limited, for the moment, tutorials from Russia and videos English learning.
