LONDON, ENGLAND (31 / JAN / 2016) .- The Irish presenter TV Sir Terry Wogan, known for having worked on the BBC and be host for many years contest European Song Contest, died Sunday at age 77 of cancer, announced the British broadcaster, citing his family.
“Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but courageous battle against cancer,” said her family BBC.
“He died surrounded by his family. We know that many will miss, but ask that the privacy of the family is respected at this time,” they added their relatives.
According to the director general of the BBC, Tony Hall, Terry Wogan was “a national treasure”. “We have lost a tremendous friend” she said.
Born August 3, 1938 in Ireland, Terry Wogan presented a morning show for many years on BBC Radio 2.
