‘Evil Dead’ will have its own TV series – The World

Evil Dead has become the latest film franchise to cross the barrier from the big screen to become a television series. As reported in Deadline , Starz has ordered a 10-part series based on the classic horror, which will be released in 2015.

Titled as Evil Dead Ash Vs. from the name of the protagonist and the title of the original trilogy in English, this series sequel will feature the original film crew: director, Sam Raimi, his partner and producer Rob Tapert and star of the film Bruce Campbell, the three executive producers of the series.

Campbell also reprise his role as Ash J. Williams: A current and womanizing man with a chainsaw arm whose only skill is to kill undead . But after 30 years avoiding responsibilities, mature, and the terrors of hell various possessions that he has had starring, Ash is forced to face his demons when a new plague of demons kandarianos threatens to destroy all mankind.

Raimi directed the first episode of Ash Vs. Evil Dead , which will write with his brother Ivan Raimi ( Darkman ) and Tom Spezialy ( Chuck ). “ Evil Dead has always been a riot,” Raimi said. “Bruce, Rob and I are delighted to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter of this useless but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and Ash gets his shotgun to blast some monsters. And boy, this time there’s a truckload of them “he added

This series also brings Raimi and Tapert with Starz, where they worked as executive producers of the first drama chain success.. the bloody Spartacus

The original movie Evil Dead was released in 1981 and had the trip of Ash and his friends at a cabin in the woods where, unaware, awaken the demons that inhabit and beginning to possess the living. Considered an icon of horror series B , the film spawned two sequels and remake as well as video games and comics.
