MADRID (Reuters) – After several years of decline, revenues from advertising on television last year rose by 11 percent to 1,890 million euros, according a report presented Wednesday by the consulting Infoadex.
The market leader was the group Mediaset Spain, an increase of 12.2 percent of advertising revenue, to 836 million euros.
The number two was Atresmedia, an increase of 8.1 percent, to 784 million.
The two media groups are expected to announce Thursday their accounts 2014 whose main source of income it is advertising.
According Infoadex, the duo was last year with 85.7 percent of the advertising pie on television, a slight decrease compared to their share of 86.3 percent in 2013.
Infoadex said global advertising market last year rose 6.4 percent to 4,532.9 million euros, although still far from the nearly 8,000 million euros invoiced before the crisis in 2007.
The business of Internet advertising and totaled 956.5 million euros in 2014, an increase of 6.7 percent.
The Daily suffered a decrease of 1 percent to 656.3 million euros while magazines experienced a marginal growth of 0.1 percent to 254.2 million
