Sanctioned by “media lynching” to a TV channel … – Yahoo Finance Spain

Quito, Feb 13 (EFE) .- The Superintendency of Information and Communication (SuperCom) of Ecuador passed today by “media lynching” television channel Teleamazonas to discredit the president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) Luis Chiriboga.

In a decision released through its website, the SuperCom Teleamazonas imposes the obligation to make a public apology for the information disseminated on Chiriboga, who filed a complaint with the protests made against him.

The petition of apology will be broadcast on the channel “on different days in the same space, schedules, sections, many times as published the offending information to the prestige and credibility of the complainant “said a statement from the supervisory organ.

According to the superintendent, five times during the months of October and November 2014, in the program “Dream Team” of that channel, Chiriboga said he would “buy votes” to be re-elected in office.

The agency notes that “there was agreement among the presenters of the program” to formulate such repeated demonstrations against the football management through dialogue among themselves and with a character named “engineer”.

“These discredited or reduced public credibility of the complainant”, which violates Article 26 of the Communications Law.

This article establishes the behavior known as “media lynching” that, with this resolution, local media, was sanctioned for the first time since the entry into force of the law in June . 2013
