Create virtual studios low cost for local channels … – Yahoo Finance Spain

Valencia, Mar 29 (EFE) .- The LabHuman Institute of Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the company Brainstorm Multimedia working on a new tool that offers studies Virtual low cost to small producers and local television channels, which will improve the competitiveness of this industry.

According to Ibanez, the solutions available on the market would be between 80,000 and 100,000 euros and the proposal this new tool would be around 12,000 or 15,000 euros and include not only the adaptation of technologies but also the equipment.

The small and medium industry content creation within the audiovisual sector have limited budgets for investments in equipment and technology but demand technology 3D graphics in real time with quality graphics powerful enough.

So, it is estimated that the number of small television growing around 30% annually and that only in Spain more -in Europe a thousand 9,800, of which 60% are local or regional, with an estimated 30,000 people, according to the UPV potential market worldwide.

This exponential growth in recent years is also due to the rise of channels IPTV thanks to the internet, which facilitates the dissemination of content and the creation of thematic channels in this way.

Therefore, this new and emerging market requires tools that facilitate the creation of virtual studios and that are flexible but powerful at the same time.

The technology inherent in virtual studios is expensive, not only from a technical point of view but also for the associated maintenance costs.

Ibanez explained that the project started earlier this year and are now developing the first modules of software and hardware equipment seeing “so that everything is a more economical package.”

“We have it finished by the end of the year and next year, televisions begin to try and validate it and give us feedback so that what we improve and have it ready as soon as possible to market,” he added.

These developments allow small businesses to work without the need to incur maintenance costs and reduce the cost of acquiring the technology significantly.

SmartSet is a European research project funded under the program 2020 of the European Commission for a period of two years.
