Parliament approves EUR 8.7 million for dismissed from … – AtenasDigital.com

Brussels, March 25 (EFE) .- The full European Parliament (EP) today gave the green light to aid of 8.7 million euros for workers dismissed from the Greek television and the newspaper of the same group communication , Attica.

The aid, which were claimed by the Greek authorities and formally proposed by the Commission European (CE), from the European Fund Help Globalisation Fund (EGF) and its aim is to help them retrain unemployed workers to return to the labor market.

The Greek media group Attica fired in recent years to 1,633 workers.

According to data provided to the EC, subscribers daily were 60% less between 2009 and 2013.

On the other hand, MEPs also gave their backing to 2.5 million euros in aid workers laid off from a subsidiary of Lufthansa dedicated to the repair of aircraft in Ireland, The Irish. EFE
