ISLAMABAD, Sept 1 (Reuters / EP) –
A group of Pakistani protesters has erupted Monday at the headquarters of state television PTV, located in the center of Islamabad, in the context of protests in recent weeks against the government.
The images broadcast by the string itself show a crowd of men entering the building after knocking down the door. According to other channels, the authorities have called on the military to help restore order.
The assault on television has joined other protests in the vicinity of the official residence of the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif . Protesters have pushed back the police after breaking into the area where the majority of government buildings.
The police were forced to use tear gas against demonstrators, armed with wooden sticks have forced them to retreat.
It is unknown whether the prime minister in residence, located a short distance from the area where clashes occur. During the marches against the prime minister of the last days, led by the former player of cricket Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri religious, at least three people were killed and 560 injured. Among the injured are 77 agents of the security forces deployed in the so-called ‘Red Zone’.
