The cast of the new series of Bravo adds a Hollywood star. Uma Thurman be interpreted a recurring character in My so-called Wife, a black comedy produced by Universal Cable Productions for the television by cable.
Inbar Lavi (Gang Related) will star in the series as Maddie, a con-artist and expert on change of identity as beautiful as dangerous. Its attractions make their unsuspecting victims are tortured even more when they discover that they have been used and they have stolen everything, including their hearts. Things get complicated when their latest victims Ezra (Rob Heaps), and Richard (Parker Young) decide to look for it as she sets her next goal: Patrick (Stephen Bishop).
Thurman will play the lethal, eloquent and mysterious Lenny Cohen, a woman capable of keeping the con artists, kill an enemy or to prepare an omelette first. The screenwriter and director of the movie Definitely, maybe, Adam Brooks, and the protagonist of Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, Paul Adelstein, are responsible for My so called wife. Bravo ordered the production of the series in the past month of march with the aim to release it in 2017.
“Uma and I are friends from a long time ago and I am delighted that, after so many attempts, finally we can work together,” said Brooks in a statement published by The Hollywood Reporter. “Paul Adelstein and I wrote the role of Lenny Cohen specifically for her and we are delighted to see how the iconic and special talent of Uma gives life to this provocative and unique character”.
Known for his work in films like Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill, Thurman has been involved in several tv productions in recent years. In 2012 she was nominated for best guest actress for her performance in the musical series Smash, in 2014, gave voice to a character of the Father Made in USA and in 2015, she starred in the miniseries The Slap, an adaptation of the critically acclaimed australian series of the same name.
