The TV could be bad for your brain! – MundoTKM US (press release)

According to a recent study , watching television can be bad for your brain.

The researchers followed 3,274 people , whose average age It was 25 at baseline, through questionnaires for 25 years. Controls were held every five years to collect data on physical activity and television viewing habits. Finally, in 25, three tests that measure various aspects of mental acuity were administered .

Those who were located at the highest level (more than three hours a day almost every day) were associated with a bad performance in the three tests . Most of them were between one-half and two times more likely to have poor performance on tests even after the researchers adjusted the study by age, sex, race, education level, body mass index, smoking, alcohol consumption, hypertension and diabetes.

The authors acknowledge that their findings, published in Archives of General Psychiatry , rely on self-reports and had no reference tests cognitive function for comparison.
