City of Mexico. Group Image announced that it will air on the 17th of October as the first national chain of television which were auctioned in the country. Its motto shall be “together we are free”.
The transmission of Image Television will begin at 20:00 hours through the channel 3, assigned by the Federal Institute of Telecommunications as a winner of the first auction of frequencies for digital television open, held in Mexico, as a result of the reform constituciona the telecommunications sector and broadcasting.
The company Olegario Vázquez Aldir will compete with Televisa and Television Azteca in the television market open with contents that are based on “four pillars,” which are the segment of news, fiction, entertainment and sports.
Chain Three, which was the reason with the social Group Image won the tender, made a financial offer by 127 television frequencies of thousand 808 million pesos, against more than 3 billion, which offered Group Radio Centro as interested in the other national chain available and that he could not pay.
The investment planned by Group Image for development of infrastructure and initiating transmissions was 10 thousand million pesos.
The company reported that its contents will be in City Image, located on University Avenue, which covers 30 thousand square meters of land, 46 thousand square meters are construction, 5 forums for entertainment and fiction, a “super forum” dedicated to the platform of news, three main cabins for radio stations to host 21 booths of digital audio and video, and where they will be working 2 thousand people.
