FRANKFURT (Reuters) – The TV group Internet Netflix said Saturday it plans to expand into Italy this year as part of its efforts to bring its popular streaming TV service to 200 countries within two years.
The company based in Silicon Valley, he said that from October Internet users in Italy may subscribe to Netflix to see a selection of TV shows and movies on TVs, PCs, smartphones, tablets and other devices.
On Thursday, Netflix announced plans to enter Spain also in October.
Netflix is available in more than 50 countries around the world, including including 13 Europeans.
Its focus on international expansion comes at a time when growth is slowing in the United States, where it has changed the way people watch TV since its launch in 2007.
