Television is no longer used as before – Merca2.0

Spain .- The market for Smart TV’s seems to have gained in strength and, increasingly, are more households have a TV like this, as you can see in the graph then shows you. In this graph, prepared by Statista following a study, you can see how Europe is the region with more Smart TV’s, with 47.6 million units sold this year, while it is expected that the number of such televisions increase up to 70.1 million next year. However, Latin America is the region with fewer units of Smart TV’s, because, this year, only 4.1 million have been sold, while in 2018 the figure will reach 17.7 million units sold.



Looking at these figures and the emergence of Smart TV at home, it is not surprising that this has changed the way using this device, so as stated by the Annual Survey of Connected TV and Online Video, a study by IAB Spain and praises, and sponsored by Smartclip.

According to the survey, 25% of Internet users use the Connected TV as usual. Of course, this figure is similar to last year, so even the Smart TV market is something that needs a lot of exploitation.

Of course, the study also goes to show that consumers use the TV for new functionalities, as you can be listening to music and radio (61%), reading email (38%) use search engines (37%) and playing games (36%).

Also, the device that most users use to access the contents of the Connected Television (TVC) is the Smart TV, a type of television that already use about 6.3 million Spaniards.

Finally, the study comes to highlight that 30% of users surveyed have ceased completely traditional television viewing, although consumer tastes are usually the same as the contents are often very similar, but what changes is the way to see them, because the TVC allows you to view the contents at any time.
