Even the most skeptical knows and believes that a healthy lifestyle will result in welfare in the long term; however, the results of a new study show to what extent this is true.

The study, published in the Gazette of the American College of Cardiology says that 75% of heart attacks suffered by women could be prevented through healthy habits.

The research, in which scientists and clinicians from Indiana University and Brigham Hospital for Women participated, continued for 20 years to 70 thousand patients female between 27 and 44 years to document all their habits.

Participants documented any diagnosis of heart disease and every two years assessed their lifestyles, enabling reach conclusions that really tested comprise the alerts.

According to the study, women with the following six habits reduced by 92% the risk of suffering a heart attack, and were 66% less likely to develop risk factors such as high cholesterol, pressure high blood and diabetes..

  1. No smoke
  2. Alcohol consumption does not exceed more than one drink a day
  3. Maintain index body mass of between 18.5 and 24.9 (ie watching their weight)
  4. Make exercise at least 2.5 hours a week. a little over 20 minutes a day
  5. prefer. eat whole grains and vegetables , and eliminate from your diet red meat, refined grains and sugar.
  6. They watch television less than seven hours a week.

And this last indicator is the most attention, since it is related to physical inactivity: If you watch TV 3 or 4 hours a day, that means they’re idle between 180 and 240 minutes day!

With certain habits you can reduce the risk of heart attack.
