TV premiere of ‘The Great Houdini’ – Blasting News

World renowned as the greatest escape artist of all time, an excerpt from the dangerous life of Ehric Weiss, aka Houdini , will be tonight at 22 hours in its television premiere on Channel Discovery Max .

With Adrien Brody at the head playing the great magician, and under the direction Uli Edel, in a production for History Chanel , the miniseries premieres today consists of four chapters and is based on the book “ Houdini: A Mind in chains. A Psychoanalytic Portrait “(Something like” psychoanalytic portrait of a mind in chains “), written by Dr. Bernard Mayer and screenplay adapted into a film by the son of the physician, Nicholas Mayer.

The miniseries promises stunts, as one in which Houdini, Adrien Brody, or double, is thrown from a height of 300 meters to the Mississippi River, in addition to the classic and claustrophobic scenes where the magician, immersed in a water-filled jars, try to unravel padlocks and chains holding your breath while inflaming his cheeks almost as much as Dizzy Gillespie when sounds his trumpet.

Adrien Brody, whom we have surrendered to his acting talent in the film “The Pianist”, always talented and tormented Romon Polanski , works and as a guarantee of success. Kristen Connolly is the British actress who plays Bess Houdini , assistant and wife of famous escape artist.

Brody say producers who had always dreamed of being a magician, or at least some modest successfully perform tricks, from early childhood, which in addition to functioning as a good claim for the film, playing Houdini and must itself be something like a “dream come true”, ie, an effective psychomagic act.

However, it is worth remembering that, as none, Tony Curtis interpreted rather embroidered legendary character in that movie from the 50s called precisely “ Great Houdini “. Maybe Brody can overcome, but with equal it or keep up the character and seems enough.

is always very attractive to see a magician act and more if it is the Great Houdini, which is why I guess this miniseries is highly recommended, so having junk circling the small screen. At least in my case, although I am always in favor of maintaining a mystery to amaze with its resolution, it has never ceased to amaze me how viewers fall and again in the deception; maybe it is because we want to believe in the illusion and miracles.
