The Government approved the central marketing of television rights – Goal.com

With this new law, Real Madrid and Barcelona fail to perceive well above the other teams in the Liga BBVA

The Government, a year late, it has approved the selling of television rights of the League. As Soraya Saenz de Santamaria said, the law “has two aims to establish measures for the marketing of rights to exploit audiovisual content of the Football League, Copa del Rey and Supercopa of Spain and the criteria for the distribution of income among the organizers “.

Under the new decree law, selling longer individualized, as was done so far, and becomes centralized. The teams will continue taking 92% of the money, 1.5% for high-level athletes and non-professional football. The distribution of the remaining 8% of television money will be as follows: 3.5% for the equipment descended from category; 1% for the Professional Football League (LFP), 2% for the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) if the League and the Copa del Rey is jointly operated and 1.5% for high-level athletes and no professional football (2nd B and women’s football).

With this new centralized sales, lower level clubs get what they spent years crying, greater equality of distribution of the ‘cake’ television, in which Real Madrid and Barcelona will continue in the first echelon charging more than the rest, but the difference will be significantly reduced, making it more competitive league, a priori. Recall that Real Madrid and Barcelona perceived 150 million euros each, three times more than the next step of the championship.
