The new voice of Chilean musicians on TV – LaTercera (Record)

In Chile, the relationship of the musicians with television has been far from idyllic. For most local artists, especially those that emerged during the last two decades has been rather an uncomfortably at times and subject to a logic that is alien often intermittent romance. “Never stop singing, the conditions are not there more or invite you to give your face so that you get on the swing,” sums Javiera Parra, one of the four local figures involved in The Voice Chile, the new star talent 13. An ambitious bet channel debuting tonight at 22 o’clock, with driving Sergio Lagos, and which according to its protagonists were seduced because unlike any other program of this type has been seen before.

In this match both the granddaughter of Violeta Parra and the other three leading Chilean local adaptation of the format of Dutch origin: Alvaro Lopez, Nicole and Alex Anwandter; the first two-along as coach Luis Fonsi and participants Franco Simone and the last, like Parra, assistant (or co-coach) of the aforementioned guardians. A diverse and representative of the pop scene in the last quarter century, which is now on a project that “puts an end to the music on the screen at the level it deserves,” he said the former leader says Los Bunkers group.

“I said from day one here I’m not the type of person who sees these scout programs. I loaded. But here the illness is not seeking or criticize the partner who is on stage to earn a points rating, “adds Lopez, who in the first eight chapters of hearing of space to select, with her three pairs, to 24 participants which team will get a single winner. In this task, which involves a sort of histrionics and competition with the other coach, he is seen loose and comfortable, even though this is his first stable experience on the small screen. “What people will see on screen is actually what happens, no one will be guiding me what I have to say,” he says.

It was the singer himself 35 years Javiera Parra who selected as his assistant in this venture. For the leader of the Impossible this is his second in talent shows, after his role as jury Best of Chile (TVN) in 2012. “If it was not for projects like this, we would have the chance to be in television. Not only because they give us space, beyond some of the cable channels, but also because television interests us as we face the musicians at this time, “says the singer, whose participation in the space -as well as the other co-coach- will be only from the ninth.

A new talent

Although it shares the view of his colleagues, Nicole’s experience on TV is different from the rest of his colleagues. Not only for his previous work on shows like All in chorus (TVN) and My name is (Channel 13), but also because his career has been strongly linked to the screen from the beginning; first child clan Sabado Gigante and then as winner Festiniños space National Television in 1987.

“Somehow I grabbed all that part of the industry when you would play on television. Now there are none. I went to Giant Saturday to Tuesday, 13, to come with me to Success. And obviously it was something that helped us a lot, because we approached people with our songs. Therefore it is important for me to be part of this program as well, “says the lead, who believes that the idea that the Chilean music low rating is outdated. “Overall it is understood that music, when presented well, people want to see. Hopefully that happens more in Chile. ”

For co-coach, Alex Anwandter, who chose to advise the contestants herself, is a debut in these conflicts. Indeed, he admits that long ago that no TV at home and has only seen some videos on YouTube of the popular American version of The Voice ago. “Nor am of a generation that has had much exposure on TV, but I comfort with this type of format,” says former Teleradio Donoso, who was convinced to participate once he realized that “it was not a show to laugh at he sings badly. ”

“The idea is to look for someone who has no voice talent show, but the voice that has not existed in the Chilean television,” says Lopez. And Parra also highlights the features and objectives of this new initiative, which will reward the winner with a contract with Universal Music: “This is not red, it was like a factory crooners. From what I’ve seen here more diverse goats, gang leaders, people who really have a future in music. “
