Madrid, Jan 18 (EFE) .- Woody Allen is the latest name to join the increasingly long list of prestigious filmmakers who have been tempted and convinced by the possibilities offered by television, which has ceased to be the little sister and has become the reservoir of talent.
“The project untitled Woody Allen” is the name of that will be the first series of the New York director for television, consisting of an indeterminate number of chapters of 30 minutes each.

But although there were previous cases, the first star of the film director who moved into film with excellent results, was David Lynch.
“Twin Peaks” (1990-1991) marked a before and after in television fiction, with a dense style, precious, intellectual and far superior to anything that is then programmed. Just remember that the great success of 1990 was “live feeling” and even coleaban the latest episodes of “Dallas”.

That scheme direction and production mix is the same as that used one of the biggest names in film, Martin Scorsese with “Boardwalk Empire” and could keep his upcoming projects with the network.

James Cameron.”: The Sarah Connor Chronicles “; Michael Bay with “The Last Ship” or “Black Sails”; Gus Van Sant with “Boss” or Michael Mann’s “Luck” and “Witness” are other names behind the production of television fiction.
