Apple postpones live television service – FORTUNE

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Apple defer its live TV service at least until next year, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the plans of the manufacturer iPhone smart phone.

The company had planned to introduce the service over the Internet this year.

Discussions with chains such as CBS Corp. and Twenty-First Century Fox the acquisition of programming are advancing slowly and the scarcity of content led Apple announced plans to cancel the service at an event on September 9, said Bloomberg.

Apple also lacked the ability of computer networks to ensure a good experience when watching programming, Bloomberg said.

The technology giant of Cupertino, California, plans to introduce a version even more powerful in its Apple TV device in the event, to be held in San Francisco.

Apple wanted to charge for the new service between 30 and 40 dollars per month, according to media reports .
