DC Comics launched a monthly series scripted by Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka called Gotham Central, the format immediately struck all Batman fans it seemed ideal for creating a television series as the stories body were around Gotham City police, sounding very black, where the bat was pretty sporadic appearances.
