Winona Ryder returns to television with “Show Me a Hero” – ABC.es

After his appearance on “Friends” and the TV Movie ‘ When love is not enough: the story of Lois Wilson ‘, Winona Ryder back to try their luck with the TV.

His new role will be to the small screen in the HBO miniseries “ Show Me a Hero ‘, based on the book by Lisa Belkin according to The Wrap. Fiction tells the story of Nick Wasicko (Oscar Isaac), mayor of Yonkers (New York), who will have to overcome a deep racial crisis in 1987 when a federal court instructs you build substandard housing amid a vecinario for rich white people.

In the series, Ryder will play Vinni Restiano , a close friend of Mayor Wasicsko councilman, who lost his seat in Consistory after his vote on the construction of these houses, but reappears four years later to become president of the city council.

Alfred Molina (“Chocolat”) and Jon Bernthal accompany the distribution to Ryder. On one hand, Molina construed Councilman Henry J. “Hank” Spallone, a detective former NYPD who became the public voice of opposition to the construction of new homes . Meanwhile, Bernthal (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “The Walking Dead”) will play Michael H. Sussman, a graduate Harvard lawyer who represented the NAACP when government anti-segregation case joined against the city of Yonkers .

The creator of this miniseries is David Simon (“The Wire”) and has executive produced “with Paul Haggis (” Crash “) and as William F. Zorzi principal writer . James Belushi, Terry Kinney and Michael Stahl-David complete the cast of “Show Me a Hero,” which does not have a calendar of scheduled shooting or release date.
