José Pablo Feinmann, the teacher who teaches philosophy on television – The Angelopolita

“Believe it or not, this is a philosophy program on television,” he says José Pablo Feinmann to enter the first episode of the Philosophy series Here and Now . That is something that we are not used in Mexico: that the important ideas of humanity accessible to anyone become.

Feinmann (Buenos Aires, 1943) is an philosopher, teacher, writer, essayist, writer, broadcaster and television Argentine. Since 2008 leads Philosophy Here and Now, which is transmitted through the channel meeting the Ministry of Education of Argentina.

Feinmann introduces great heroes of philosophy , but goes further invites us to use all these great ideas for think about our own existence and the fate of the world in which we live. That is: José Pablo achieved great philosophical texts that are no longer cold letter and are applied in everyday .

In Mexico, the philosophy is almost reserved for the Academy . The words of Sartre, Marx, Descartes, Heidegger and Nietzsche are restricted tacitly. Those who go to college to know them should have secured the future or risk “starve” ( is what is predicted for anyone who wants to pursue career . of philosophy or any other to explore in human thought)

Here ” notes José Pablo and explains that “this is where we philosophy; we are not at the Sorbonne , we are not in Freiburg, we are not in the American Academy “.

It also notes with necessary drama why “now”: “because or do now know whether or not we will do later . (…) Without urgency, without despair, but we have to consider every minute is absolutely beautiful “.

Nine seasons have occurred and all are useful. Some episodes are memorable , like those dedicated to Jean-Paul Sartre . Feinmann recounts that when Sartre was 66 or 67, printed a newspaper and he went out to sell it to the streets; although by then she suffered severe pain in the knees. “I also believe that today would be giving philosophy classes on television ” concludes Feinmann. I agree with him.

Sometimes I have the impression that in Mexico, who have some knowledge choose to keep it to prevent lawyers no longer the minority always lives putting on airs of superiority. The few intellectuals who have managed to jump such a complex, have never been sufficiently effective to make that philosophy is of massive interest.

I think that is not enough then-study read philosophy or philosophy. We have to make philosophy . And the fascinating (masterfully illustrated by cartoonist Miguel Rep) José Pablo Feinmann programs are an excellent way for anyone wanting to take a final transformation of his life. I leave here the link to the site where they can be found all episodes , for those wishing to venture into themselves.
