Progress in the implementation of digital television in Cuba – CubaDebate

Eduardo Cabrera Abizaid, researcher at the Institute for Research and Development of Telecommunications of Cuba (LACETEL), spoke about the prospects of digital terrestrial television on the island.

Just all these issues will be addressed in the Third International Forum of Digital Television, which will run from 14 to 16 September in the hotel premises Melia Habana, with the presence of specialists and researchers from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Ecuador, China and Cuba.

According to Cabrera, one of the most important issues to be discussed at the meeting will modulating DTMV -. currently in Cuba and the new version is DTMV-A enhanced version adopted in 2010

LACETEL researcher also reported that on other issues will discuss reception systems for antennae and cables and about interactivity , software solutions and technical specifications of digital television receivers, sensitivity and magnetic compatibility.

LACETEL took his first steps in January 1964 under the name Central Telecommunications Laboratory, and arose from the need to solve problems of high level requiring the execution of applied research.
