The string Cubavisión has recovered and relayed an interview that Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara gave to the channel american CBS on December 13, 1964, days before delivering his historic speech at the General Assembly of the United Nations, reports ‘Clarín’.
Guevara, who at that time was minister of Industry of Cuba, speaks with three journalists —two from CBS and one of the ‘New York Times’— on the relations of the country represented by the united States and he says that “we will not accept any conditions imposed” by the americans.
This guerrilla leader also declares that “revolutions are not exported”, because they arise “by the conditions of oppression that Latin american governments to wield against the people” and blame the “imperialist system and its allies” create these conflicting situations.
as to whether Cuba could be defined in its relations with the Soviet Union and China, the argentine explained that “the unity is necessary, because the disunity favours to US, that is our enemy, and all that is in favor of the enemy must be eliminated”.
To finish, ‘Che’ Guevara estimated that “the word ‘progressive’” is “ambiguous”, because “there are governments which, despite having different systems, we maintain diplomatic relations, we respect you”, but in Latin America, “there are some governments which oppress their peoples, and among the least oppressive, we could have sex without any difficulty with Uruguay, Chile and Costa Rica, although the united States does not permit it.”
