BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) – The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China (SARFT, its acronym in English), the maximum emission regulator of the country, said Friday it will strengthen the regulation to programs and medical television commercials.
the SARFT issued a circular recently and indicated that such programs can only be produced by staff of the TV station.
also It requires that such programs are reviewed and recorded. It does not allow programs conducted by private companies are issued, according to the circular.
The SARFT also prohibits advertising during programs. Experts in medical and health programs must have ratings issued by public health authorities.
The circular also imposes limits on the length and format of medical advertising. Each ad must not exceed the minute, while disguised as television programs are strictly prohibited.
