The Directorate General of Educational Television (DGTVE), through its Channel Learn, announced the return of the child educational series Sesame Street as part of its commitment to help reduce the backlog of education in Mexico.
id=”contentNote”> Through a newsletter, educational television says that Sesame Street is a television series designed to meet the educational needs of preschool children throughout Latin America and reflect the cultures and traditions of each country. The series, which first began broadcasting in 1972, pioneered the contemporary educational television.
id=”contentNote”> The series features a man and a cast of puppets known as Muppets . Among the characters that are reminiscent of the series include: Abelardo, a large bird with green feathers and red and orange short beak, like a parrot, Horns, a red monster with a single pair of horns and sharp teeth; Paco, a grumpy parrot who normally appeared from the window of his apartment, Bert and Ernie, Grover, Greñaldo (Herry Monster), Luke or Cookie Monster, Elmo, Kermit the Frog, the Great Gonzo and Fozzy the Bear.
id=”contentNote”> Thus the Channel Learn intends to remain a television proposal aimed at fostering curiosity with a program that makes you want to exploration, research and learning, promoting in this case small to investigate how their skills relate to their environment and society to which they belong.
