The documentary tells the story of most ambitious project ever conceived in Internet , a story that arrancz in 2002 when Google began scanning millions of books in an attempt to create a huge global library that will store all existing books.
were even a better proposal: create a higher form of intelligence, planned as HG Wells in 1937 essay “The Global Brain” . Scan reached ten million books, more than half of them copyrighted, and authors from around the world launched a campaign to stop the U.S. giant. That culminated in the courts of New York in 2011.
The documentary does not address only the recognition of the authorship of written works. It also poses the danger of monopoly access to knowledge and technological control, and comes at a highly topical because of recent revelations about cyber espionage and Internet that facilitate control of big business.
Directed by Ben Lewis , Award Winning documentary filmmaker, the film covers some of the world’s greatest libraries, including the Library Montserrat Monastery . Throughout the documentary is interspersed numerous expert witnesses on both sides of coin: Internet and libraries.
