Industries of radio, film and television generated 57,000 million dollars in 2012 - China Radio International

radio industries, film and television in China recorded a profit of 347,700 yuan (56,700 million) in 2012, an increase of 20.11 percent over the previous year, according to an official report published this Thursdays.

State General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television said the strong growth was mainly due to the contributions of commercials and cable TV, as well as increased revenues from the box office film.

benefits were 127,000 million yuan, up 13.12 percent from a year earlier, while cable television entered 66,000 billion yuan, up 17.24 percent year on year.

box office earnings came to 17.000 billion yuan in 2012, an increase of 30.18 percent over 2011. Between 2002 and 2012, the average annual growth in the film industry was 34.22 percent.
