Internet Series aspire to win an Emmy - The Miami Herald

class=”dateline”> LOS ANGELES – Pioneering series online and film stars could be the news in the next fight Emmy Awards.

“House of Cards” and “Arrested Development,” which Netflix offered spectators the internet and television, could be the first Internet software to receive nominations for best series and action when Emmy nominations are announced early Thursday.

“Surely this marks a new era … send shockwaves throughout the industry,” said Tim Brooks, TV historian and former executive of a television.

“House of Cards”, a story of political intrigue, could be nominated for best series and Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, could expect to earn for his performance.

“Arrested Development”, revived by Netflix after Fox canceled it, could be a possibility as best comedy series, like actors Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jessica Walter.

Spacey and Wright also not part of a movement that continues to grow outstanding film artists who find a good reason to work on the small screen.

Other film actors could aspire to a Primetime Emmy include Michael Douglas and Matt Damon for “Behind the Candelabra”, Al Pacino and Helen Mirren for “Phil Spector”, Holly Hunter for “Top of the Lake”; Shirley MacLaine for “Downton Abbey”, Jeff Daniels in “The Newsroom” and Kevin Bacon in “The Following”.
