Jennifer Lopez said Wednesday that Latinos in the U.S. are beginning to realize its real power in politics and the media and that makes this a good time to its latest commitment: lobby for more diversity in programming on American television.
The actress, singer and entrepreneur Puerto Rican spoke at a convention of communications, Cable Show, prior to the launch of the new network programming nuvoTV, 18 July. Lopez is creative director of the English-speaking Latino channel.
He said this is an exciting time for Latinos.
“We’re really growing as a community and we have reached a where we deserve to be taken into account, served and cared for. “
Lopez was about to meet later Wednesday with the Congressional Hispanic caucus, the organization National Council of La Raza and Senators Harry Reid and Bob Menendez.
