Drug lords 'assault' television - Milenio.com

traffickers have not only dominated the headlines of newspapers or newscasts have also been a source of interest and inspiration of producers, writers and screenwriters who bring their story to the small screen and sometimes the movies.

That world of wealth, women, power, drugs and debauchery has been portrayed in several series, mainly those lords in Colombia and Mexico.

“Men of the drug” Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is the character on which the whole plot unfolds. Written by former Colombian drug trafficker Andrés López López, will air from October in the United States by the UNIMAS channel Univision.

This series adds to other productions and here are some of the highlights.

“The cartel of the Toads”

Performed by Caracol Television and directed by Luis Alberto Restrepo and Gabriel Casilimas portrays the experiences of Andrés López López as a member of the North Valle cartel in Colombia, which he joined when he was 15, and which was formed after fragmentation of the Medellín and Cali cartels.

telenovela tells the story of Catherine, a young woman who will do anything to get the money for breast implants and is seduced by the world between capos to see her friends arrive in luxury vans and expensive gifts.

“The dolls of the mafia”

Produced by Caracol Television and written by Juan Camilo Ferrand and Andres Lopez. The telenovela is based on the book “Fantastic”, which realizes the circumstances leading to five young people involved in the drug trafficking world.
