Barbara Walters is retiring after 52 years on TV - The Review

NEW YORK – Veteran conductive news on ABC Barbara Walters announced his retirement today.

This Monday morning, during the broadcast of “The View” Walters announced he will retire from television journalism in the third quarter of this year.

ABC said in a statement last night that Walters will remain executive producer of “ The View “, a program interviews that she created in 1997 and airs Monday through Friday.

Journalist of 83 years has passed 37 years at ABC News. She joined the chain in 1976 and was the first female co-host a nightly news. Three years later, she was co-host of the program “20/20″ ABC .

Before coming to ABC, Walters spent 15 years at NBC News, where he was coconductora of “Today”.

“I’m very happy with my decision … we hope that next year is wonderful and special,” said Walters.

“I do not appear in another program or climb another mountain, “he added. “Instead I want to sit in a sunny field and admire very talented women-and, OK, some men too, who will take my place,” he added.
