Jack Bauer returns to television - The Chronicle of today

The popular television franchise return in the summer of 2014 with 12 one-hour episodes each, in which, as usual in this series, the events occur in near real time.

The series will once again feature the role of agent Jack Bauer (Sutherland) who must stop a new threat years after the events of the last season.

“It’s great to have Jack back. The series redefined the drama genre and adapt the format as a TV miniseries, this iconic program will be completely new, “said Kevin Reilly, president of Fox Broadcasting Company.

Meanwhile, Sutherland said the fan response to 24 during his career is something “unique”.

The series premiered in November 2001. Since then earned 73 Emmy Award nominations, an award which was in the dramatic category in 2006. Sutherland won the best actor of drama that year.

Last broadcast on U.S. television came in May 2010 after 8 seasons. Sutherland was joined by a cast which appeared Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carlos Bernard, Elisha Cuthbert and Dennis Haysbert, among others.

For years it was rumored the possibility that the series became a feature film, but budget problems and the difficulty of reconciling the agendas of those involved prevented it.
