After a few years in which the obsession of the manufacturers has been away from the TV, it seems that now is starting a new trend, leisure congenial centered on the idiot box with the capabilities of smartphones and tablets. Many were surprised by the incorporation of an infrared port on the Samsung Galaxy S4 , and the truth is that it made no sense. What supporting what we have been sold constantemete as “the past”?
The latest moves by Samsung apparently can explain this decision. On the one hand we have the app WatchON , which the Korean manufacturer intends to become the ultimate remote control. Not only serves to control the volume, channel, and all those features, but also serves to find content. Similarly, SwipeIt was presented as the most serious alternative to Apple Airplay , a solution to send content from our Android device to a smart TV.
Well, now Samsung has just taken another step in that direction, buying SwipeIt development company, MOVL . The reason for the purchase is to integrate its workers directly in the structure of the company, which shows that the Koreans are serious when it comes to television. And this opens the door to much more ambitious projects that have been presented so far.
Because
MOVL Kontrol.tv also owns a new API for independent developers to create apps that take advantage of the new SmartTVs Smart TVs as Google TV systems. It is difficult to guess whether this move by Samsung is due to a desire to turn your product into the industry standard, or rather throw away all that work and start from scratch with their own technology, but in any case one thing is certain: the televisions are still protagonists.
